V-Soft Consulting is currently hiring for a Sr. Software Engineer for our premier client in Austin, Texas. This is a 6-month contract position in the marketing industry.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

Education and Experience »

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree or relevant experience, preferably in the digital/online media or tech industry
• Minimum 5-7 years of industry experience – software engineering
• 3-5 years of web and mobile application development experience
• Experience working with various data technologies and distributed computing architecture (SQL/NoSQL, Hadoop/Spark, Containerization, etc.)

• Experience building and maintaining back-end, framework-oriented sites built with PHP, Laravel, Composer, Twig, Blade, Node.js, Express, MongoDB, MySQL
• Experience in integrations with APIs and social networks
• Experience scaling out using cloud hosting, such as Amazon EC2, S3, CDNs and caching layers
• Experience with Agile methodology, design patterns, Java/Scala, etc.
• Experience managing multiple projects

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities »

• In-depth understanding of the LAMP stack, including command-line, configuring and troubleshooting
• Strong knowledge of AWS (configurations and offerings)
• Strong communication skills
• Comfortable with client conversation
• Ability to work well with others to maintain documentation and architectural overview
• Ability to identify and troubleshoot web site outages
• Ability to work with outsource/offshore teams

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Job Responsibilities »

• Jump into technology stack and start producing code and designs with a direct impact on the direction of the product, site, team and organization, while providing real value to the end-user
• Contribute to the entire technology stack, from front-end to mobile and back-end services, and single-site web applications
• Continuously improve the performance of websites and services, including all mobile applications and sites
• Identify and troubleshoot web site outages
• Understand the SDLC to manage new and existing products in our client’s portfolio
