V-Soft Consulting is currently hiring for a Data Architect for our premier client in Durham, North Carolina. This is a 6+ month contract position in the financial services industry.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

Education and Experience »

• An undergraduate degree in computer science or a related field, ideally combined with an advanced technical degree
• Proficiency at understanding enterprise data architecture concepts, master data management, data modeling and design techniques
• Hands-on experience in cloud technologies and practices, building data applications that leverage services such as AWS EC2, S3, EMR, Athena, Glue, Lambda and Elasticsearch
• Experience working in complex data environments in an engineering, design and architecture capacity
• Strong experience in driving ETL, data quality security and governance practices
• Exposure to Python and R, along with Data Science and Machine Learning experience is desired
• Finance and investment management domain experience desired
• Hands-on experience with NoSQL technologies is desired

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities »

• Current knowledge on event driven processing, data API and recent data-oriented developments
• Expert knowledge in Oracle, PL/SQL and/or other relational database platforms
• Knowledge of engineering and Continuous Delivery practices
• Thorough understanding of Data Exploration, Visual Analytics concepts and tools such as Tableau
• Strong skills and demonstrated focus in logical data modeling
• Strong data architecture, engineering and design skills
• Proven leadership skills
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to lead cross-team collaboration and partnerships across a variety of internal and external constituencies
• Ability to mentor, influence and partner with application architects, engineering and product teams to deliver scalable robust data solutions

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Job Responsibilities »

• Provide the technical vision and leadership required to deliver complex and critical solutions for the business
• Participate in coding and detailed technical work, and also engage with senior management and business teams
• Drive the data architecture vision for Asset Management
• Investigate, prove out, and incorporate new technologies and capabilities as required
• Define patterns and best practices for data usage, design, engineering and development
• Lead, mentor and provide design and architecture for delivery teams
• Collaborate with product and engineering leads and senior management on product and delivery requirements, roadmaps and vision
