V-Soft Consulting is currently hiring for a Full Stack Engineer for our premier client in Westlake, Texas. This is a 6-month contract position in the financial services industry.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

Education and Experience »

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Science, Mathematics, Physics or related field
• 5+ years of hands-on experience designing, developing and maintaining Java/J2EE and Node.js based applications in a fast-paced Scrum environment
• 5+ years of experience effectively employ DevOps, Automated Testing and Continuous Delivery using technology such as Groovy and Jenkins
• 5+ years of hands-on experience implementing front-end solutions using JavaScript, Typescript, CSS, HTML and browser developer tools
• 5+ years of hands-on experience designing and implementing continuous JavaScript environments using Webpack, Grunt, Gulp, etc.
• Hands-on experience working with package management using Node.js, NPM, Express
• Experience with Automation Tools/Frameworks (Mocha, Jasmine, Selenium, Protractor)
• Experience with API design and development and microservices architecture

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities »

• Deep knowledge of HTTP based APIs, networking and how the internet works
• Deep knowledge of asynchrony (Promises, Observers, Event Loops)
• Expert skills in Git and respective branching strategies

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Job Responsibilities »

• Use business knowledge to translate the vision for divisional initiatives into business solutions by developing complex or multiple software applications and conducting studies of alternatives
• Analyze and recommend changes in project development policies, procedures, standards and strategies to development experts and management
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for multiple applications or subsystems
• Establish  full project life cycle plans for complex projects across multiple platforms
• Participate in iteration planning to maintain velocity and deliver quality each sprint
• Analyze business requirements and system development specifications
• Participate in problem solving, troubleshooting, performance turning, production support, and maintenance of existing APIs
• Ensure code reviews, unit testing, and integration testing are completed efficiently and effectively
• Help to coordinate the delivery of technical components across internal/external technical teams
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to more junior team members
