V-Soft Consulting is currently hiring for a Project Manager for our premier client in Conyers, Georgia. This is a contract position in the public-sector industry.

U.S. Citizens and those authorized to work in the U.S. are encouraged to apply. Our client is unable to sponsor at this time or work on a C2C basis.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

Technical Requirements and/or Certifications »

• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or other formal project management training is preferred
• Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Microsoft Office and Microsoft Visio

Education and Experience »

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Telecommunications or an IT-related field from an accredited college or university is preferred
• Need to have an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science or an IT-related field from an accredited college or university, OR a 2 year technical degree/certificate in an IT field combined with 6 years of application development experience (including at least 3 years managing IT projects)
• If no degree, requires 8 years of application development experience (including at least 3 years managing IT projects)
• Previous served as a project manager on at least one complex IT project that required the close coordination of internal resources, resources from multiple agency or government entities, and at least one vendor or service provider
• 6 years of project management experience in a medium to large government organization involving coordination of multiple complex projects and the integration of legacy and web based technologies is preferred
• 2 years of experience migrating mainframe based mission critical applications to a modern platform is preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities »

• Strong working knowledge of managing projects according to PMI or similar industry standards
• Working knowledge of the IBM S/390 mainframe and MS Windows/web-based platforms
• Excellent written and communication skills

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Job Responsibilities »

• Ensure that projects are implemented on time and according to defined requirements
• Develop, monitor and coordinate project activities, such as budget tracking, schedule tracking, issue and risk management, objective achievement and reporting
• Create and maintain project management artifacts and reports as required
• Consult with customers to determine business rules and requirements
• Conduct facilitated sessions with project team to understand, collect and document business and functional requirements
• Oversee and/or create business and/or functional requirements documents
• Act as liaison between customers and technical team as needed to ensure successful delivery of business solution
• Monitor vendor performance to ensure timely and accurate completion of vendor's responsibilities
• Conduct project close-out activity, including formal hand-off to support personnel, providing user training, providing user documentation, user acceptance with written sign-off by local customer, etc.
