V-Soft Consulting is currently hiring for a Senior Cloud Engineer for our premier client. This is a 9-month contract position in the education industry.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

Technical Requirements and/or Certifications »

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate – (Current, ability to obtain Professional Level within 6 months)

Education and Experience »

• A Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field
• 5+ years of experience building full-stack software solutions, architected and delivered using industry-leading DevOps best practices and technologies
• 5+ experience with Agile concepts and practices
• Hands-on experience with most of the following: Python, Java, Go, C#, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Node.js, shell scripting, microservices and RESTful Web Services
• Hands-on experience with AWS (EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS, VPC, Route 53, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, ECS and IAM)
• Hands-on experience with orchestration tools (Chef, Puppet, Jenkins, Docker, etc.)
• Intermediate experience with various database technologies (NoSQL, SQL, Mongo, Cassandra), AWS DB services (Aurora, RDS, DynamoDB, Redshift, ElastiCache) and data interchange formats (XML, JSON),
• Experience with the following technologies or their respective equivalent: Containerization - Docker, Kubernetes, Packer, StackStorm, Splunk, Terraform
• Experience deploying infrastructure and AWS
• Python and scripting experience

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities »

• Deep understanding of security best practices and standards around cloud computing and access management
• Demonstrable knowledge of DevOps in an Enterprise setting, both on public cloud (AWS) and on-premise
• Comfortable performing requirements analysis, interfacing with stakeholders of various levels, and documenting solutions
• Energetic team player who works well across boundaries and readily adapts to change and enjoys rapid development
• Ability to articulate technical topics to non-technical audiences, both in writing, in diagrams and in person
• Skills in mentoring and coaching, planning and architecting
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Strong leadership acumen

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Job Responsibilities »

• Design, develop and deliver scalable and automated services and architecture - Infrastructure as code
• Architect, design and implement solutions with AWS Virtual Private Cloud (VPC), Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), AWS CloudFront and other AWS products
• Develop APIs to simplify service consumption by end-users and engineers
• Create software delivery pipelines for various enterprise customers and services
• Ensure full-stack software solutions are architected and delivered using industry-leading DevOps best practices
• Create reusable automation libraries that can be applied across the enterprise
• Determine HA/DR, Security, Capacity and Compliance strategies for existing and new applications
• Develop usage standards, user self-service designs, and reporting on application KPIs
• Optimize and support existing public cloud and some datacenter-based solutions and workloads
• Participate in deep architectural discussions to ensure solutions are designed for successful deployment in the cloud
• Troubleshoot production issues and perform on-call duties
• Mentor junior team members
