V-Soft Consulting is currently hiring for a Software Engineer in Test for our premier client in Westlake, Texas. This is a 6-month contract position in the financial services industry.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

Education and Experience »

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software engineering or related field
• 6 to 9 years of experience with designing and building Angular and webservice applications while incorporating test automation frameworks
• Working experience with Ruby (or Java), Cucumber, JavaScript, HTTP, RESTful Web Services and Jenkins
• Preferred experience with AngularJS (2 or above), Node.js, Docker and Genesys Contact Center Platform
• Preferred experience with test automation frameworks (Cucumber w/ Ruby, SOAtest and Selenium)
• Preferred hands-on experience creating and using test doubles and virtual assets
• Experience delivering software in the Agile environment is preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities »

• Knowledge of software engineering practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing and operations is preferred
• Knowledge in a breadth of technologies and test automation frameworks (i.e. Ruby, Cucumber, JavaScript/Angular, HTTP, RESTful Web Services)
• A concern for creating the best end-to-end customer experience
• Self-directed, willing to take initiative, and results-oriented
• Ability to learn large software systems, end-to-end, quickly
• Ability to work with remote and international team members
• Strong attention to detail

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Job Responsibilities »

• Use knowledge of testing and testability to influence better software design, promote proper software engineering and bug prevention strategies, testability and security
• Actively participate in the development process through writing and maintaining application features and automated tests, including unit tests, component tests, integration tests, functional tests, performance tests, scenario tests and interoperability tests
• Support the team in designing reliable, portable, accurate and trustworthy tests, and in integrating them into CI/CD pipelines
• Collaborate with team members on improving the team's test coverage, release velocity and production health
• Enable the team in designing and developing automation harnesses using Ruby w/ Cucumber and SOAtest
• Participate in application code and test code reviews with rest of the Scrum team
• Participate in development using JavaScript/Angular and Web Services/HTTP
