V-Soft Consulting is currently hiring for an SQL Engineer for our premier client in Boston, Massachusetts. This is a 6+ month contract position in the financial services industry.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

Education and Experience »

• A Bachelor’s Degree or higher in a technology related field (i.e. Engineering, Computer Science, etc.) is required
• 3+ years of hands-on experience designing and writing complex SQL queries that implement sophisticated business requirements
• 2+ years of experience implementing back-end logic in a Linux-based environment using python as the programming language
• 2+ years of experience with Java and proficient in debugging Java code
• Experience and comfort executing projects in Agile environments (Kanban or Scrum)
• Experience working with multiple different database engines is a plus
• Experience developing data applications in Cloud (AWS) is a plus

• Work with the global team to provide technical direction in building solutions
• Design, build, tune and support robust, secure, mission critical applications that provide the best customer experience
• Suggest and improve designs of systems supported by the tea
• Promote engineering simplicity and automation
• Explore and leverage new technology trends
• Resolve technical roadblocks to the team and mitigating potential risks
• Mentor team members and bring them up to speed on latest Big Data technologies
