V-Soft Consulting is currently hiring for a Sr. Java Software Engineer for our premier client in Westlake, Texas. This is a 6-month contract position in the financial services industry.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

Technical Requirements and/or Certifications »

• Spring Framework 4.x, including Spring Batch, Spring Security, Spring Web Flow and Spring MVC
• Domain Driven Design (DDD) and Command/Query Responsibility Segregation (CQRS)
• Maven, Nexus, Git Stash, Sonar
• MyBatis/Hibernate ORM
• SQL and PL/SQL query
• Oracle 11/12c

Education and Experience »

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent training and experience
• 8-10+ years software development experience
• 6-9+ years of Java/J2EE development experience
• 3+ years of experience in designing, development and implementation of SOA Java Web Services and Spring Framework
• 2+ years of experience working in an Agile/Scrum/Lean environment
• 2+ years of Web UI development experience
• Experience in designing and developing Web Services, middle tier or back-end solutions in an enterprise environment
• Experience working with ALM tool such as Rally, JIRA, Version One or RTC
• Experience building external integrations (File, XML, SOAP, REST)
• Experience in UML and/or object modeling
• Experience working within an Agile team
• Experience with the following delivery techniques is preferred: CI/CD and DevOps
• Experience with Jenkins, Bitbucket, Jira, Sonar and Dynatrace is preferred
• Experience with JavaScript framework is preferred - jQuery or Dojo, etc.
• Experience working in financial services industry is preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities »

• Familiarity with the following design patterns is preferred: MVVC and MVC
• Understanding of authentication/authorization best practices is preferred
• Excellent problem analysis and creative solution-building skills
• Proven customer and relationship management skills
• Accountable and able to work with minimal direction
• Strong communication skills (listening, verbal, written and presentation)
• Strong technical, teamwork and partnering skills
• Ability to quickly learn, adapt, and change to meet the needs of a changing environment

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Job Responsibilities »

• Actively participate in backlog grooming, planning sessions, daily scrums, retrospectives and any other team meetings
• Lead research, solution and design sessions
• Perform peer code reviews
• Build and maintain test automation components alongside the QA and Development team
• Promote process-improvement initiatives in an effort to maximize team velocity
• Correct any unexpected results and/or vulnerabilities within the system and related processes
• Provide leadership and mentorship to junior staff
