V-Soft Consulting is currently hiring for an Information Security Network Specialist  for our premier client in Miami, FL. This is a contract/contract-to-hire position in the telecommunications industry.

Responsible for designing, reviewing and assessing the network infrastructure security architecture including firewall, router, switches, VPN, SSL concentrator, intrusion detection/prevention systems; for performing periodic traffic analysis and for establishing network component security policies and configuration standards.

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

Technical Requirements and Certifications »

  • Preferred Professional certifications:
    • CCSP (Cisco Certified Security Professional)
    • CCNP or CCIE (Cisco Certified Network Professional or Internetworking Expert)
    • Palo Alto Firewall certification
    • CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional).
    • SSCP (Systems Security Certified Practitioner)
    • Other security or technology certifications.

 

Education and Experience »

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent combination of education and comparative job experience.
  • Minimum six (6) years related experience with network architecture design, administration and network infrastructure security.
  • Advanced knowledge and experience of Cisco and Palo Alto security design, configuration and management.
  • Basic knowledge of UNIX/Linux/Windows operating systems and software tools.
  • Preferred knowledge of:
  • Cisco and Palo Alto security design, configuration and management.  Familiarity with security architecture and standard configuration requirements.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities »

  • Have the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. 
  • Have the ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Must have working knowledge of IT operating systems, network systems and operational procedures; risk management, Business Impact Assessments, vulnerability and penetration testing.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work well within a team environment.
    Results oriented / Customer focused.
  • Knowledge/experience with TCP, Web and Internet protocols.

 

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Job Responsibilities »

  • Design, review and ongoing assessment of firewall, router, switches, VPN, SSL and other network component policies and configuration standards.
  • Periodic security assessment of firewall, router, switches, VPN, SSL concentrator and other network component security configurations.
  • Validation of firewall configuration and rules to maintain secure connections (internal and external).
  • On-going administration of perimeter and internal firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems and other security monitoring tools.
  • Periodic assessment of external and internal network vulnerability.
  • Configuration and maintenance of firewall monitoring tool (including setting up intrusion event alerts and notifications).
  • Monitoring of firewall analyzer reports.
  • Integration of firewall system alerts into the security operations center centralized monitoring tool.
  • Response and support for emergency on-call firewall security alert.
  • Assist in other projects assigned to the Director or VP of Information Security by Senior Management.
  • Responsible for developing information security architectures and policies and for continuously assessing information security threats, risks and vulnerabilities.
  • Responsible for administering network security tools, such as IBM Anomaly Detection Systems and Cisco Intrusion Prevention Systems, and for reviewing its attack signatures, IBM Site Protector and IBM Enterprise vulnerability scanner.  Such tools are critical for proactively securing the network.
  • Responsible for determining security vulnerabilities within our network configuration, identifying/assessing external/internal threats from unauthorized users and making corrective decisions in the event of an intrusion attempt. The Specialist will keep current on new technologies and on news of other companies’ networks being compromised so as to take preemptive action to avoid similar attacks.
